Key Responsibilities:
- Clean, sterilize, and prepare surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and best practices.
- Inspect and test sterilization processes to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Manage the inventory of surgical supplies and instruments, ensuring adequate stock and timely reordering.
- Identify and document any discrepancies or issues involving sterilization processes.
- Assist in training new staff on sterile processing techniques and department protocols.
- Work collaboratively with surgical teams to facilitate efficient instrument turnover for procedures.
Work Environment:
- Flexible shifts available based on departmental needs, including weekends and holidays.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- MUST LIVE 30 MILES AWAY FROM ROCHESTER
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in Sterile Processing preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in sterile processing or related field.
- Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads as necessary and be on your feet for extended periods.
