Job Description: Healthcare & Travel Nurse Recruiter
WorkFit Staffing, in partnership with our long-established healthcare staffing network, is seeking a motivated and experienced Healthcare & Travel Nurse Recruiter to join our rapidly growing team. For over two decades, we have been placing top-tier healthcare professionals throughout New York State, including long-term care facilities, clinics, hospitals, and travel nursing assignments.
In this role, you will recruit Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, Radiology Technologists, and Travel Nurses for both local and statewide opportunities. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, excels at relationship management, and brings a strong sense of urgency and professionalism to the recruitment process. This is an hourly role with an additional monthly compensation plan.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Sourcing
- Proactively source candidates through job boards, social media, ATS, referrals, networking, and industry events.
- Prepare and post job ads across multiple platforms and maintain an active pipeline of qualified candidates.
- Screen applicants for required credentials, experience, and compliance with state and facility regulations.
- Conduct interviews to assess suitability, professionalism, and availability.
- Utilize strong research, cold calling, lead generation, and relationship-building techniques.
Candidate Management
- Guide candidates through onboarding, credentialing, background checks, and compliance workflows.
- Clearly communicate assignment or job details, including expectations, schedules, pay packages, housing (when applicable), and facility requirements.
- Build long-term relationships to support redeployment and retention, providing ongoing support throughout assignments.
Client & Facility Coordination
- Collaborate with internal account managers and external facility partners to understand staffing needs.
- Submit qualified candidates promptly and follow up for feedback and placement decisions.
- Coordinate with compliance, payroll, and scheduling departments to ensure smooth and timely start dates.
- Assist with staffing needs tied to new business growth across the state.
Teamwork & Operations
- Maintain accurate candidate records in the ATS.
- Meet individual and departmental goals in a results-driven environment.
- Demonstrate strong organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Contribute positively to team collaboration, communication, and workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in healthcare recruiting or travel nurse recruiting (required/preferred based on background).
- Experience in high-volume recruiting environments.
- Proficiency with ATS systems and HR sourcing tools.
- Strong interpersonal, written communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of labor laws, credentialing, and employee relations is a plus.
- Sales or business development experience is advantageous.
