JOB TITLE: Operations Hourly Supervisor
LOCATION: Mexico, MO
Shift: 3rd
GENERAL SUMMARY
Supervises day-to-day production operation of assigned shift ensuring attainment of productivity, quality, safety and customer service requirements and goals. Monitors the process and the quality of the product and makes necessary corrections to the process in order to maintain a steady flow of quality product to the customer.
JOB DUTIES
- Continuously available on the manufacturing floor monitoring activities, auditing and handling various production problems. Ensures line runs safely with quality output and minimal downtime.
- Assists line workers to complete planned production schedule and works the line to cover for breaks/lunches and absenteeism.
- Troubleshoots when problems occur on the line. Confers with BIT Leaders on any critical issues. Takes initiative for identifying areas of improvement within the department.
- Assists with safety and housekeeping tasks and compliance. Observes, corrects and documents unsafe work practices. Performs safety audits on routine basis. Maintains a housekeeping schedule and performs housekeeping audits and resolves issues.
- Ensures a strong focus on quality and customer service among all team members. Understands the quality standards for all parts. Frequently audits in-process and completed product.
- Ensures the process control of the equipment is centered, maintained and standardized work is being followed.
- Audits routinely. Audits compliance with regard to work habits, PPE, company policies and procedures and recommends necessary changes to plant management.
- Communicates with team management, support staff, other Team Leaders in person or electronically, to ensure current knowledge of critical part shortages, production constraints, and critical repair items.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises team members on the shift in a Working Team Lead capacity. Reports to BIT Leader and/or Facilitator: quality, productivity and safety issues; team functional issues; Company policy compliance issues; day-to-day work habit/work performance issues; overall shift priority issues between teams and support groups; shift performance issues; training needs; and staffing needs to control labor costs.
- Assists in team member training and building/maintaining strong teamwork.
- In consultation with other team management, provides input into team member performance, including disciplinary actions, ongoing performance feedback, and performance appraisals.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required: High School Diploma/GED
Preferred: 3 years manufacturing experience; Team Lead experience
