Yard Loader Operator
Job Type: Full-Time, Temp to Hire
Pay: $21.43/hour
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 5:30AM-4PM OR 5:30PM-4AM
Keep the Yard Moving!
We’re looking for a Yard Loader Operator to work at a busy sawmill. You’ll operate heavy equipment to move logs, lumber, wood products, and materials throughout the yard while keeping production moving safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct inspections prior to the start of shift to ensure equipment is safe to operate
- Operate loaders and other heavy equipment in the sawmill yard
- Move logs, lumber, chips, and other materials
- Load and unload trucks as needed
- Stack and organize materials in the yard
- Perform daily equipment inspections
- Keep equipment clean and report mechanical issues
- Follow all PPE & Lockout/Tagout protocols
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
What We’re Looking For
- Previous loader or heavy equipment experience preferred
- Comfortable operating large machinery in a busy work environment
- Good awareness of surroundings and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to perform physical work and work outdoors
- Completion of a pre-hire drug screening and non-DOT physical
