The Polar Park Security Department are looking for helpful, positive, knowledgeable, compassionate, energetic, and proactive individuals to be a part of the Polar Park Security Team. Security Team Members play an essential role in the safety and security operations for the park and are responsible for the overall well-being for all guests, employees and integrity of operations.
Role And Responsibilities
- Monitoring security surveillance video cameras and alarms systems promptly responding to and investigating any abnormal or unauthorized activities.
- Assisting in providing a safe environment by conducting regular foot patrols to deter unauthorized access, vandalism or suspicious activity.
- Answering emergency, non-emergency and administrative cell phone or landline communication and providing the appropriate response when necessary.
- Assisting local 1st Responder partners (Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services) on investigations or medical calls as requested.
- Recording and documenting in the Security Department’s Computer Database, any park related activity affiliated to security actions, correspondence or safety concerns.
- Submitting written incident or activity reports in a timely manner as required.
- Interacting with and admitting guests and employees into the park providing directions, answering inquiries and organizing support.
- Operating metal detection equipment in order to conduct safety screening measures for prohibited items as necessary.
- Checking on and verifying employee and guest credentials to control access in restricted areas.
- Performing additional duties or assignments as directed.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass a Criminal Offender Record Information background check.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills for monitoring security surveillance video cameras and use of security database.
- Proficiency to work within a fast-paced and frequently changing team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an outgoing and service-oriented personality.
- Ability to remain calm in a tense or stressful environment.
- Physically able to walk or stand for extended periods of time in variable weather conditions along with navigating through flat ground, ramps, and multiple stairs.
- Previous security, public safety, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
- Bilingual, multilingual, and/or ASL Certified.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid Certified.
