SUMMARY
The Director of Human Resources originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, while prioritizing goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

DUTIES
- Contribute to the fiscal soundness, operating effectiveness and regulatory compliance of the school.
- Initiate and manage all aspects of the recruiting and hiring process, including updating job postings,
- Ad placement, resume screening and interview schedule/process. Adherence to policies and laws/regulations concerning applicant tracking and selection.
- Serve as advocate to both employee and school regarding employee performance as well as day-to-day working environment. Work closely with leadership team regarding a variety of issues.
- Manage and guide and termination processes (voluntary/involuntary) by counseling leadership team to be certain separation is appropriate and within school guidelines as well as ensuring the limitation of the organization’s legal exposure. Advise regarding separation agreements, disparate impact, disparate treatment, etc.
- Monitor salary/grade levels for fairness and industry competitiveness at the direction of the Director of Enrollment and Finance.
- Assist in development of policies and procedures (administered fairly across school) while assisting employees in understanding and implementation of stated policies.
- Develop and implement HR projects and initiatives such as wellness programs and benefit fairs.
- Manage administrative matters to ensure that the school maintains appropriate records necessary for legal and record keeping requirements.
- Develop and direct orientations, development, and training programs for new and existing employees.
- Manage and monitor information, changes, updates, and questions related to employee benefits, insurance, and compliance.
- Maintain an active membership with the Society for HR Management (SHRM).
QUALIFICATIONS
- HR professional with 5-10 years of experience and/or 4-year degree in HR Management or a related field.
- Must be proficient with computers including the Microsoft suite with special priority on Excel.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Motivated self-starter with great organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task projects with equal priority.
- Able to direct/manage others, meet deadlines and anticipate work.
- Ability to respond to sensitive matters and/or situations with discretion, tact, and confidentiality.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Enhanced analytical skills and an aptitude for problem solving.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
