The Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation (VBCDC) is a nonprofit organization with almost three decades of experience creating affordable housing solutions for low and moderate-income families. With a portfolio valued at over $41 million and a history of housing more than 6,200 individuals, VBCDC is among the largest property owners in Virginia Beach. The organization also offers essential supportive services, such as case management and financial assistance, benefitting over 8,000 individuals facing housing crises. Dedicated to fostering housing stability, VBCDC plays a vital role in strengthening individuals and community well-being.

The Director of Human Resources and Administration is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing HR operations and administrative functions to support organizational goals. Responsibilities include developing and implementing HR policies, managing employee relations, overseeing performance management, ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws, and contributing to a positive workplace culture. This is an on-site, full-time position based in Virginia Beach, VA.

• Proficiency in Human Resources (HR) management and implementation of HR practices and procedures
• In-depth knowledge of HR Policies, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee development
• Strong skills in Employee Relations and Performance Management to foster positive workplace dynamics
• Comprehensive understanding of Labor and Employment Law to ensure compliance and risk mitigation
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is highly desirable
• Proven experience in a senior HR managerial role is preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively and support the mission of affordable housing and community development
