Backroom Associate – Job DescriptionPosition Summary
The Backroom Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, supporting daily backroom operations, and ensuring an organized, safe, and efficient work environment. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Replenish and restock inventory shelves to maintain product availability and organization.
- Receive, organize, and store large volumes of inventory in designated backroom locations.
- Unload palletized shipments from delivery trucks and shipping containers using manual pallet jacks.
- Conduct cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy using RF/RFI scanning equipment.
- Maintain backroom cleanliness and safety standards through sweeping, breaking down cardboard, disposing of packaging materials, and keeping shelving areas organized.
- Collaborate with the Manager on daily operational tasks, including inventory relocation, racking assembly, shelf and bin relabeling, and creation of overstock storage totes.
- Assist with additional backroom duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented backroom environment.
- Experience operating pallet jacks and other basic backroom equipment preferred.
- Ability to safely climb ladders while transporting boxes or totes.
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Dependable, punctual, and accountable with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with coworkers and backroom leadership.
- Adaptable and flexible in response to changing priorities and operational needs.
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and tasks as business needs arise.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
