Do you have a passion for helping animals but feel burnt out from the traditional in-hospital veterinary setting?
WoofDoctor On Wheels is a dynamic full-service mobile veterinary practice serving the Beaufort, South Carolina area. We specialize in providing in-home care, including physical examinations, vaccinations, advanced dental care, and diagnostic services like digital radiology and comprehensive lab testing. Our mobile unit also features a fully equipped surgical suite with advanced anesthesia equipment, protocols, and monitoring systems.
With our recent expansion, we now have a second vehicle dedicated to technician appointments. Our TECHTEAM, consisting of an LVT and an assistant, offers an array of services, including nail trims, anal gland expressions, lab work, technician consults for eyes, ears, fecal/urine tests, weight/diabetes management, laser therapy, and ultrasound scans.
We are seeking an experienced veterinary assistant to support both the TECHTEAM and our primary vet truck for appointments and surgeries alongside Dr. Cifranick.
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (variations between these hours) and weekends off.
Key Responsibilities:
- Animal restraint for various appointment types & procedures (cats and dogs)
- Medical documentation
- Maintain accurate and timely assistant notes within the SOAP
- Enter charges and manage client check-out procedures following each appointment
- Utilize Route Management System to track appointments and vehicle workflow throughout the day
- Use Google Task Lists to manage ongoing duties and ensure follow-through on assigned tasks
- Communicate with team members via Google Chat to coordinate care, resolve issues, and support efficiency
- Prescription processing (both in person and online)
- Inventory management
- Gathering patient history and processing appointment charges
- Assisting and monitoring during dental and surgical procedures
- Client communication
- General cleaning duties
Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and comfortably restrain both dogs and cats
- Computer skills
- Proficient multitasking skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Openness to working in a growing, family-oriented practice
