Accounting & Financial Processing
- Post daily transactions to subsidiary accounts in appropriate ledgers or computer files
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and on schedule
- Reconcile cash, credit card, and electronic payment receipts
- Post journal entries and assist with general ledger maintenance
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare and mail monthly statements to customers
- Receive and record payments from customers
- Follow dealership accounting policies and internal control procedures
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records
- Protect confidential financial and customer information
- Verify accuracy of customer invoices using the DMS (dealership management system)
- Prepare routine accounting reports and schedules as requested
- Maintain accounting files, schedules, and supporting documentation
- Respond to internal inquiries from management and other departments
- Assist with audits and manufacturer reporting as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting coursework or degree preferred
- Prior accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in an automotive dealership
- Familiarity with dealership accounting processes and terminology preferred
- Experience with dealership management systems (DMS) such as Reynolds & Reynolds or CDK is a plus
- Strong data entry, math, and reconciliation skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle high transaction volume and meet deadlines
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Professional communication skills and ability to work across departments
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
