Custodian - Part-Time

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Cleans and improves the YMCA facilities and equipment, including preventative maintenance to cleaning equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Provides overall facility cleaning and keeps supervisor aware of product inventory.
2. Checks the proper operation of all cleaning equipment.
3. Completes cleaning work and projects in a timely manner. 
4. Helps in the process of picking up, laundering and disbursing towels.
5. Works in an efficient manner and as a team member with other custodial staff.
6. Makes supervisor aware of cleaning issues and anything in need of repair or replacement.
7. Ensures that assigned equipment is maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Previous experience in a custodian position desired but not required.
• Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and other maintenance-related tools/equipment.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 60 days of employment.
• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
• Have reliable transportation.
