Certified Personal Trainer for Village Fitness. Looking for an educated, passionate, committed individual to provide high level training and customer service. The position is responsible for creating and executing specialized fitness programs in a variety of formats including Team Training, Small Group Training, and Private Training.

Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing one-on-one personal training to members and guests
- Advises on new programming and equipment needed.
- Meets with and assesses members for fitness needs and provides a safe and effective session and/or program to meet those needs.
- Leads individual through a personalized workout routine with appropriate verbal instructions and clear patterns of movement according to accepted fitness standards and practices.
- Provides education for participants on taking their own heart rate and when to decrease the intensity of the workout for their safety.
- Arrives early to inspect workout equipment for safety and/or issues.
- Assists in the overall retention and satisfaction of members through exceptional customer service.
- Maintains a positive and cheerful attitude with staff, peers and program participants.
- Acts as a role model and exemplifies a healthy professional attitude.
- Provides necessary modifications and spotting as needed.
- Enforces youth member procedures and all gym rules and policies.
- Complies with departmental uniform and grooming standards.
- Works effectively as a team with all departmental employees.
- Works variety of shifts, as needed to include nights, weekends and or holidays.
- Complies with departmental and Club policies and procedures
- Keeps supervisor informed of member issues comments and concerns.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR, First Aid Certification
- Either ACSM, NASM or NSCA – CPT or Certified Personal Trainer
- Bachelors or Masters in exercise science, kinesiology, biomechanics, or related field
- Advanced certifications: NSCA-CSCS, TPI, NASM-CES
- 1-2 years personal training experience
- Ability to read, understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
- Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritize in a fast paced environment.
- Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and to deploy resources effectively.
- Must have the willingness to provide exceptional service to members and desire to provide leadership to position the department to achieve the mission.
- Ability to understand verbal and written direction in English.
- Maintains high stamina while leading individual exercise routines.
- Stands and walks for 95% of workday
- Must be able to lift from 1 to 10 lbs for 75% of workday.
- Must be able to lift from 11 to 25 lbs for 50% of workday.
