Position Summary

The AM Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for leading daily morning and daytime front-of-house service operations at The Reserve Club. This position helps ensure every member and guest receives warm, polished, timely, and consistent service in all assigned dining areas. The role is highly visible, hands-on, and service­focused, requiring the supervisor to lead by example, support the team on the floor, and maintain rooms that are always clean, organized, properly set, and member-ready.

This position works closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, Assistant General Manager, culinary leadership, and service team to deliver a high-quality private club dining experience aligned with industry standards and CMAA best practices for member service, staff supervision, cleanliness, training, communication, and operational consistency.

Positions Supervised

The AM Dining Room Supervisor oversees and directs the daily work of service staff, including but not limited to:

  • Servers
  • Bartenders
  • Server Assistants
  • Hostesses
  • Food Runners
  • Service Captains, Bar Captains, Leads, and other front-of-house support roles

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead daily AM front-of-house operations and ensure all dining areas are properly prepared, staffed, clean, organized, and ready for member and guest service.
  • Assign service sections, tables, stations, side work, opening duties, closing duties, and daily workloads based on reservations, expected volume, staffing levels, and member needs.
  • Create and manage floor plans for assigned meal periods, events, and service needs in coordination with the Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Assist with scheduling service staff and communicate staffing needs, call-outs, coverage gaps, and shift adjustments to the Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Conduct pre-shift communication with service staff to review reservations, member preferences, menu updates, specials, service notes, events, timing, and expectations for the day.
  • Work in unison with the culinary team to ensure timely, accurate, and well-presented food and beverage service.
  • Serve as a liaison between the service team and culinary team to maintain clear communication, resolve service issues quickly, and support a smooth member experience.
  • Assist directly in service whenever needed, including greeting members, seating guests, taking orders, delivering food and beverages, clearing and resetting tables, supporting the bar, and helping the team during peak periods.
  • Monitor the dining room floor throughout service to ensure service standards, timing, table maintenance, cleanliness, and member satisfaction are consistently met.
  • Maintain proper service standards and service timing at all times.
  • Address member and guest concerns promptly, professionally, and respectfully, escalating issues to the Food & Beverage Manager or AGM when appropriate.

Service Standards and Operational Expectations

  • Ensure all rooms are set to club standards and are always member-ready, including tables, chairs, linens, menus, glassware, silverware, condiments, stations, bars, patios, and service areas.
  • Inspect dining areas before, during, and after service for cleanliness, safety, proper setup, lighting, temperature, music, and overall presentation.
  • Train, coach, and support service staff on club service standards, member recognition, menu knowledge, beverage standards, POS procedures, side work, teamwork, and hospitality expectations.
  • Lead by example with a positive, professional, member-first approach at all times.
  • Ensure service staff are properly groomed, in uniform, punctual, prepared, and following established club policies and procedures.
  • Help maintain accountability for side work, opening tasks, closing tasks, cleaning assignments, and service checklists.
  • Support proper handling ofreservations, seating flow, special requests, member preferences, and service recovery.
  • Assist with inventory awareness for front-of-house service supplies, bar supplies, linens, menus, and smallwares, notifying management of shortages or needs.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with applicable food safety, alcohol service, sanitation, and club policies.

Provide timely updates to the Food & Beverage Manager regarding staffing, service issues, member feedback, maintenance needs, training opportunities, and operational concerns.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Strong understanding of private club, restaurant, or high-end hospitality service standards.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and direct a service team in a calm, professional, and respectful manner.
  • Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize service needs, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of dining room setup, floor plans, reservations, POS systems, service timing, and front-of-house operations.
  • Knowledge of food, beverage, wine, cocktails, and menu service preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with culinary, bar, service, housekeeping, maintenance, and management teams.
  • Professional appearance, positive attitude, and commitment to exceptional member service.
