Salary: Starting at $19 / hour – depending on experience / education
Job Summary
Responsible for daily billing operations for Centers for Behavioral Health and RL Health, including submission, monitoring, and follow-up of claims to ensure timely and accurate processing. Reviews and resolves claim generation issues, rejections, errors, and denials, and prepares and submits appeals in accordance with payer-specific guidelines. Communicates professionally with insurance payers and reports billing issues, including contract short payments and overpayment trends, to supervisors and upper management. Maintains and works assigned spreadsheets, providing claim denial and trending analysis, while staying current with industry updates and performing other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will support all aspects of the Woods System of Care Outpatient Revenue Cycle and perform the following duties:
- Process Daily billing for Centers for Behavioral Health and RL Health claims.
- Monitors submitted claims to ensure processing.
- Reviews and resolves issues related to claim generation and rejection, errors and denials.
- Submit proper appeals to the payer per the payer specific guidelines.
- Communicates professionally with various payers, communicates all billing issues regarding contract short-payment overpayment trends to direct Supervisor or Upper Management.
- Works all assigned spreadsheets. Provides trending and claim denial information on the spreadsheet.
- Stays educated on industry changes and updated.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED certification
- Experience with Managed Medicaid, Medicaid, Medicare, 3rd Party and Self Pay accounts.
- Experience with billing and collections systems.
- Proficient in Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal team and external customers.
