Woodman Controls Company is currently hiring a Journeyman Electrician to join our team in Eastern Iowa. We are seeking innovative and self-motivated candidates who are committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
What You’ll Do:
- Primarily work in commercial and/or industrial settings doing Building Automation wiring.
- Analyze blueprints, schematics, and electrical system drawings to determine installation methods for wiring and conduit in compliance with NEC and local codes.
- Install conduit, fixtures, and equipment to provide enhanced or upgraded Building Automation Systems.
- Complete layout and installation of Building Automation Systems.
- Install and support cable trays and pull cable tray wiring.
- Terminate panels according to drawings in a neat and professional manner.
- Manage project installations, checking for accuracy and project completion, and processing paperwork promptly.
- Ensure job site safety by adhering to all safety procedures, conducting safety meetings and toolbox chats, and promoting a culture of safe work practices.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain current knowledge of industry trends and meet certification requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project and team success.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong communication skills and personable demeanor.
- HVAC knowledge and prior experience in controls programming and networking (Tridium preferred).
- Strong background in commercial troubleshooting.
- Adaptability to changing work environments.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Proven experience as a skilled electrician, particularly on small to medium-sized teams.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and safety regulations.
- Current State of Iowa Class A Journeyman License.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to meet company driving standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
