Job Overview
We are in search of an assistant teacher to join us in providing a nurturing, safe, and warm environment for our students during our after-school care program. This program runs from 3pm-5:30pm. There are 20 children enrolled in this program and two staff members. You will work alongside a lead aftercare teacher. We are a school-year program, and operate on the public school calendar. This contract would begin August 19th, 2026 and end June 18th, 2027.
Duties
- Supervise children during after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Maintain a calm, peaceful environment reflective of our Montessori values
- Follow all Washington State Child Care Licensing guidelines
- Administer basic first aid and CPR when necessary, following established protocols
- Monitor children during outdoor play, ensuring safety
- Prepare and serve afternoon snack
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred
- Certification in First Aid/ CPR will be provided by employer
- Food handler's card
- Negative TB Test
- A Background check cleared through the WA state MERIT system

Pay: $17.13 - $22.00 per hour
