Job Summary
Woodlake Valley Middle School: Grades 6-8 Under the direction of certificated personnel (under the direct supervision of the site Administrator), the Special Education Aide has the responsibility of providing support to special education services. The Special Education Aide is distinguished from other instructional aides in that they are required to perform duties that are necessary and appropriate to ensure that special education students receive services outlined on their Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.) in accordance with federal law. Services include physical, emotional and mental support to special education students as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Valid CPR/First Aid Certification; • Knowledge and ability to understand the use of proper English, punctuation, spelling, grammar, basic math, general science, and social science with specific subject content; • Must maintain a high standard of professional appearance and serve as a role model.
- Copy of Transcript (Associates degree) OR Other (Transcript with at least 48 college units or higher) OR Paraprofessional Testing (Passing score on the TCOE Instructional Aide Assessment Test)
