Woodinville Montessori School is seeking a Part-Time Art Teacher to join our vibrant learning community for the 2026-2027 school year. This position works primarily with Upper Elementary, Middle School, and High School students, guiding them through a rich and engaging visual arts program that encourages exploration, skill development, and creative problem solving.

Our Upper Elementary students are developing deeper cultural awareness and moving from concrete to abstract thinking. Middle and High School students engage in increasingly sophisticated reasoning, self-management, and purposeful work as they prepare for success beyond the classroom.
As our Art Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire students across these developmental stages while contributing to a collaborative and supportive school community.
Position Details
Part-Time (0.5 FTE), Academic-Year Position
Start Date: August 2026
Work Schedule
• Monday: 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
• Thursday: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
What You'll Do
• Design and deliver engaging visual arts instruction for Upper Elementary, Middle School, and High School students
• Foster creativity, artistic skill development, and self-expression
• Create a welcoming and organized studio environment that encourages exploration and independence
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs and interests of diverse learners
• Showcase student learning through projects, displays, and community engagement opportunities
• Collaborate with colleagues to support the school's educational mission
• Maintain positive and professional communication with students, families, and staff
We're Looking for Someone Who
• Is enthusiastic about teaching art and inspiring young artists
• Brings creativity, flexibility, and a growth mindset to the classroom
• Creates inclusive learning environments where all students feel valued
• Has strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Communicates effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Values relationship-based education and student-centered learning
• Is interested in Montessori education, or eager to learn about Montessori philosophy and practice
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Art, Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field
• Teaching experience in art education, preferably with upper elementary or secondary students
• Washington State teaching certification is welcome but not required
• Experience developing and implementing arts curriculum
• Knowledge of multiple artistic media and techniques
• Interest in interdisciplinary learning and project-based education
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $20,000-$42,500 annually, depending on education, training, and experience.
