JOB TITLE: Teacher
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
- As set by state certification standards or licensure requirements, at a minimum a Bachelor degree
- Pass health examination
- Have no immoral or criminal history
- Have ability to work with other staff members, the community, parents and children
DUTIES:
- To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and psychological growth and maturation
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated
- Demonstrate knowledge of curriculum initiatives and subject matter
- Design instruction that addresses multiple abilities of performance
- Implement effective teaching techniques
- Use varied resources for learning activities
- Teach to KERA learning goals, KDE academic expectations and district courses of study
- Promote high expectations for students
- Create a learning climate that supports academic expectations
- Establish and maintain standards of classroom behavior
- Evaluate student progress on regular basis and communicate evaluation to students and parents
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with students
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with educational staff
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with parents/guardians
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation
- Communicate challenging expectations for all students
- Work cooperatively with colleagues, support staff, and administration
