What are the responsibilities and job description for the Player Assistant/Ranger position at Woodfield Country Club?
Woodfield Boca Raton is seeking experienced Player Assistant / Ranger :to join our Golf Operations department. The Player Assistant / Ranger will provide service to the members in the area of starting times, managing tee times, directing players, assisting with tournament operations, reinforcing course rules and policies, pace of play, providing accurate daily play totals, and any other duties needed by the Golf Professional staff. They will also act as the golf course watchman, providing the Golf Professional staff with updates as to the pace of play or any other situations on the golf course, instruct players on the code of etiquette, and assist players with any on-course problems. They must be demonstrative yet pleasant at the same time, and must communicate effectively with the Golf Professional Staff. The positions require a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following::
- Maintaining pace of play by monitoring the speed of play, identifying slow groups, and diplomatically suggesting ways to expedite their progress.
- Managing tee times by ensuring players get to the tee on time ensuring a smooth flow of play and minimizing delays.
- Enforce course rules and etiquette by ensuring players adhere to course regulations, including dress codes and general etiquette.
- Providing assistance to players by offering information about the course, answer questions, and provide guidance on course conditions.
- Reporting issues by monitoring course conditions and report any issues such as broken flags, maintenance needs) to appropriate golf operations staff.
- Ensure players adhere to safety guidelines and address any potential hazards.
- Ensure supplies at water stations and well-stocked with essentials.
- Keep in constant communication with Golf Professionals, Golf Shop staff, all members of the golf team and golf course maintenance teams to ensure high efficiency.
- Provide friendly and professional service to all golfers.
Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
- Excellent customer service skills are required
- Knowledge of Golf
- High School Diploma
