We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Auto Body Shop Parts Manager to oversee the procurement, inventory, and distribution of auto body parts within our automotive repair facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong supply chain management skills, automotive knowledge, and leadership capabilities to ensure seamless operations. This role is vital in maintaining efficient parts flow, supporting repair processes, and enhancing customer satisfaction through effective parts management and supplier relations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire supply chain process for auto body parts, including sourcing, procurement, and inventory control.
- Oversee supplier management to establish strong vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of OEM and aftermarket parts.
- Coordinate with automotive service teams to fulfill parts requests promptly and accurately, supporting efficient repair workflows.
- Monitor demand planning and forecasting to optimize inventory levels and reduce excess stock or shortages.
- Supervise warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, storage organization, and equipment repair as needed.
- Implement best practices in warehouse management, logistics, sourcing, and procurement to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to warehouse experience and equipment such as forklifts.
- Collaborate with dealership teams and external vendors to source high-quality parts at competitive prices.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management, procurement processes, and customer service standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in supply chain management within the automotive industry or dealership environment.
- Strong background in automotive diagnostics, auto body repair parts sourcing, and OEM parts procurement.
- Demonstrated expertise in warehouse management and shipping & receiving procedures.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes related to automotive repair equipment and HVAC systems is a plus.
- Experience with negotiation, sourcing strategies, demand planning, and procurement management is essential.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems combined with customer service skills enhances effectiveness in this role.
- Prior experience working with dealership or auto body shop parts departments is highly desirable.
- Strong data entry skills ensuring accurate record keeping for inventory transactions and procurement activities.
