Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, including drafting legal documents, contracts, and correspondence with precision and clarity
- Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, iManage, and other research tools across diverse practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, and personal injury law
- Manage legal case files using document management systems and PCLaw to ensure all records are current and properly organized
- Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Support project management efforts by coordinating deadlines, scheduling meetings, and tracking case progress
- Perform data entry, filing, proofreading, transcription, and administrative tasks to streamline office operations
- Assist with document review processes for litigation cases and prepare summaries or reports as needed
Skills
- Strong knowledge of various legal practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, and litigation procedures
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis
- Experience with legal case management software like iManage and PCLaw
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Effective writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence
- Attention to detail for proofreading and document review tasks
- Strong interviewing skills to gather relevant case information from clients or witnesses
- Ability to handle administrative responsibilities including data entry, filing systems, phone etiquette, and clerical support
- Knowledge of contract management and document review processes within a busy law office environment
