Position Summary: The District Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth, maintaining excellent customer relationships, and providing top-tier service within an assigned territory. This role involves meeting or exceeding sales targets, identifying and securing new business opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction in the food distribution industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sales Performance
- Achieve or exceed sales goals and revenue targets set for the assigned district.
- Develop and execute sales plans to grow within your district
- Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring their needs are met with exceptional service.
- Conduct regular customer visits, follow-ups, and communications to promote products and services.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.
- New Business Development
- Identify and pursue opportunities to open new accounts within the assigned territory.
- Present the company’s products and services effectively to prospective customers.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements in collaboration with management.
- Operational Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing structures, and service standards.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and account details.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as operations and logistics, to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years of sales experience, preferably in food distribution or a related industry is preferred but all sales experience is looked at.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Knowledge of food distribution products and industry trends is a plus.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel within the district as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
