Radiology Secretary / Full Time Days
The Radiology Secretary initiates the revenue cycle process for routine and complex outpatient radiological appointments including but not limited to: CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine, Bone Dexa and Mammography. The incumbent is responsible for scheduling and/or coordinating all components of a radiological study.

The Radiology Secretary initiates the revenue cycle process for routine and complex outpatient radiological appointments including but not limited to: CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine, Bone Dexa and Mammography. The incumbent is responsible for scheduling and/or coordinating all components of a radiological study.
Major Tasks, Duties And Responsibilities
- Politely receives hospital patients, takes orders for tests, and directs patients on procedures.
- Gives clear instructions on proper preparation for examinations and accurately answers routine questions about procedure and department policies. Screen patients according to the guidelines and give pre-procedure instructions for blood work and instructions for fasting.
- Demonstrates appropriate skills required to work with patients of any age.
- Courteously answers telephones, takes messages accurately.
- Obtains physician orders and processes examination requisition in accordance with established procedures.
- Responsible for the coordination of patient care between the physician office, the patient, and various hospital departments
- Excellent computer skills, with the ability to multi-task between various hospital system applications.
- Other Duties as assigned.
