Medical Office MA/LPN / Wood County General Surgery / Full Time
Job Description
- Assist physician or provider with patient assessment, examinations and treatments.
- Set-up for various procedures and assists the physician or provider in treatments such as surgical procedures, pelvic exams, and other medical modalities.
- Documents patient care observations and activities according to professional standards and procedures.
- Administers routine injections under the direction and supervision of a provider.
- Triages patient phones calls, in accordance with office policy.
- Promptly responds to patient phone calls and concerns.
- Telephones/faxes prescriptions under the direction of a physician or provider.
- Assists in emergency situations under the direction of the physician or provider.
- Obtains specimens (i.e. throat, urine, wound, etc) using proper technique and following policy and protocol for labeling.
- Performs CLIA waived testing, and other testing within the scope of practice and under the supervision of a physician or provider.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked patient care area, observing techniques and all other federal mandates, (i.e. OSHA, CLIA).
- Pull charts for current day patient call, refills, etc.
- Accurately files charts.
- Performs pre-certification/prior authorization when necessary.
Required License/Certification:
- LPN in the state of Ohio, or Registered/Certified Medical Assistant
