The Cancer Center Director provides leadership to a multi-disciplinary Cancer Center Team. The Cancer Center Director provides leadership to a multi-disciplinary Cancer Center Team. The Director is responsible for operational and strategic leadership for the development of the program, to ensure growth in market share while maintaining the highest level of service excellence, patient satisfaction, quality and safety.
Major Tasks, Duties And Responsibilities
- Directly supervises all office and clinical staff; provides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees in accordance with applicable policies and legislation.
- Formulates and administers current and long-range policies, procedures and programs for the Center.
- Assists the Vice President of Operations in determining the fiscal requirements of the Center and provides budgetary recommendations. Monitors, verifies and reconciles expenditures of budgeted funds.
- Ensures the financial viability of the Cancer Center through achievement of financial targets.
- Collaborates with medical staff leadership to develop and/or revise standards of care with attention to evidence-based practice, patient satisfaction, cost, and revenue.
- Facilitates the development and successful attainment of quality indicators.
- Coordinates all staff personnel issues including hiring, orientation, training and development, work scheduling, performance evaluation, coaching and counseling. Provides and reinforces systems to maintain staff competency and good customer service.
- Maintains and enforces policies, procedures and standards pertaining to the operation of the practice and in line with Federal, state and other regulatory agencies.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration or related field is required.
- Experience: At least three years successful management experience in a Radiation Oncology program or similar setting.
