Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum focused on childhood development and early learning standards.
• Supervise daily classroom activities, ensuring children are engaged, supervised, and supported in their individual needs.
• Manage staff recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to maintain a high-quality team.
• Maintain compliance with all licensing regulations, mandated reporting laws, health and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid and CPR certifications.
• Foster open communication with parents through regular updates, conferences, and addressing concerns to build strong partnerships.
• Oversee the maintenance of accurate records related to child progress, attendance, incident reports, and licensing documentation.
• Promote a positive classroom environment that emphasizes behavior management strategies, inclusive practices for children with disabilities or special needs, and toddler or infant care best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children across various age groups including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs.
• Demonstrated classroom management skills with a focus on nurturing developmentally appropriate activities.
• Valid certifications in first aid and CPR; pediatric first aid certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles, childhood development theories, and classroom supervision techniques.
• Experience working within daycare or childcare center environments; daycare center experience is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills for parent engagement and team leadership; experience with parent communication is essential.
• Ability to adhere to mandated reporting laws and ensure compliance with all state licensing requirements.
• Background in special education or experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
