POSITION SUMMARY:
The Development Director will be responsible for overseeing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies, managing donor relations, and leading various development initiatives. This role requires a motivated individual who excels in building relationships, fostering community engagement, and driving successful campaigns.
KEY DETAILS:
- Position: Development Director
- Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week in Spokane, WA office
- Compensation Range: $74,880 - $80,000 annually
- Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, with some occasional evening hours
- Additional Offerings: Paid time off, monthly benefits stipend, retirement contribution
- Supervisor: Executive Director
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising strategy & donor relations management:
- Conduct donor visits, cultivate relationships, and steward donors through personalized communications, including thank-you cards, emails, and updates.
- Develop and execute fundraising strategies to meet annual revenue goals.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of stewardship plans for various donor segments.
- Occasional travel for conferences and trainings.
Board & committee relations:
- Collaborate with the board of directors and various committees to align development efforts with organizational goals.
- Provide regular updates to the board on fundraising progress, donor relations, and development initiatives.
Community engagement:
- Represent the organization at community events to enhance its visibility and build connections.
- Organize and facilitate quarterly social events to engage donors, supporters, and the community.
Volunteer management:
- Coordinate internal and external volunteer opportunities to support organizational needs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with volunteers, recognizing and appreciating their contributions.
Grant writing & reporting:
- Research and identify potential grant opportunities.
- Prepare and submit grant proposals, ensuring compliance with guidelines and deadlines.
- Provide timely and accurate reports to grantors.
Donor cultivation:
- Develop and execute strategies to cultivate corporate partners, giving circle members, one-time donors, in-kind partners, and legacy gift donors.
- Implement personalized approaches to strengthen donor relationships.
Membership campaigns:
- Develop and execute quarterly membership campaigns to attract new members and retain existing ones.
- Analyze campaign results and adjust strategies as needed.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute Women Helping Women Week, ensuring its success as a key annual awareness event.
Committee management:
- Serve as staff liaison for the communications and development committees, ensuring effective collaboration and communication within the team.
