Position Summary
The Temporary Youth Specialist provides direct supervision, guidance, and support to youth in care while maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. This role is responsible for implementing treatment plans, documenting client progress, and supporting the daily operations of the residential program.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and guide clients in a variety of daily activities while maintaining a healthy, safe, and structured environment.

Implement and support individual treatment plans while treating all clients with dignity and respect.

Review all documented charts, logs, and communication records at the beginning of each shift.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation throughout the shift.

Complete and submit all required logs, reports, documentation, and assigned projects before the end of each shift.

Participate in and successfully complete all required agency, licensing, contractual, and program training.

Serve as a mandated reporter in accordance with Michigan Child Protection Law.

Attend required staff meetings and trainings.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required (Youth Specialist)
90-DAY REQUIREMENTS
- Level 1 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) endorsement for basic core skills
- Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) seminar provided by the agency, with ability to apply and perform CPI techniques
- American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certification
- Valid Michigan driver and chauffeur license or ability to obtain chauffeur license
