This is a leadership role with influence.
As a Shift Coordinator, you set the tone for your entire shift. Your professionalism, judgment, and integrity directly shape how staff interact with youth.
You are not just supervising tasks.
You are modeling standards.
Staff will look to you for guidance on how to:

Respond to youth with consistency and respect

Apply interventions ethically and correctly

Handle crisis situations without escalating them

Uphold agency policies even when situations are difficult

This role requires strong moral judgment and the ability to hold staff accountable to high standards. You must be willing to correct unsafe behavior, reinforce ethical practice, and ensure youth are treated with dignity at all times.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications
You qualify if you have:

High School Diploma or G.E.D.
-
Level 1 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) endorsement
-
Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) training with ability to apply techniques

American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certification
-
Valid Michigan Driver’s License and Chauffeur’s License (or ability to obtain Chauffeur’s License)
Preferred Experience
We strongly prefer candidates with:

Experience working in a child care institution or residential treatment setting
However, we will also consider candidates with:
-
Supervisory experience in any direct care or human services environment
Leadership ability, sound judgment, and professionalism are essential.
