Foster Care Family Services Supervisor

This Role Matters:
This role leads impact. At Wolverine Human Services, we help children and families move toward safety, stability, and permanency. As a Foster Care Supervisor, you guide and support Case Managers in delivering high-quality services that directly affect outcomes for children in care.
This role is both leadership-focused and hands-on. You will coach staff, support decision-making, and ensure compliance while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners.
This role includes:
- Supervising and supporting Foster Care Case Managers
- Ensuring compliance with licensing, contractual, and agency standards
- Providing guidance on case planning, assessments, and service delivery
- Supporting permanency planning efforts across assigned cases
- Coaching staff through complex cases and ethical decision-making
- Reviewing documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Participating in quality assurance and corrective action planning
- Supporting staff training, onboarding, and professional development
- Collaborating with DHHS, courts, and community partners
- Responding to urgent or after-hours needs as required

- Supporting staff to meet or exceed performance and compliance standards
- Ensuring accurate, timely, and complete documentation
- Maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality
- Acting as a mandated reporter under Michigan law
- Providing regular feedback and completing performance evaluations
- Promoting a positive, inclusive, and professional team environment
- Participating in required training and quality assurance activities
- Being available to respond to urgent needs on a 24-hour basis, as required

What You Need to Apply – Minimum Qualifications:
You qualify if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related Human Behavioral Sciences field preferred
- Must meet Michigan licensing and contractual experience requirements for a supervisory role
- Prior experience in foster care or child welfare required
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License (if required for the role)
