Join Wolter, the authorized Generac Industrial Distributor for Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, and bring your mechanical expertise to a company that powers hospitals, manufacturers, municipalities, and more. We service industrial generators up to 3.25 MW and partner with trusted names like Generac, Kohler, Cummins, and Yanmar.
We’re looking for a Generator Field Technician who’s ready to hit the road and make an impact across the region. This position supports travel throughout Southern and Central Wisconsin, with dispatching based on your home location.
💼 What You’ll Do:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel, natural gas, LPG, and gasoline-powered generators and industrial engines on-site
- Perform scheduled maintenance and respond to emergency service calls
- Collaborate with our Lead Engine Technician for additional support as needed
- Submit service documentation daily using your company-provided phone, tablet, and laptop
- Deliver a professional, helpful customer experience – and identify future service needs
- Follow all safety guidelines to protect yourself, your team, and our customers
🧰 What You Bring:
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with generators or industrial engines
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and customer service mindset
- Basic computer skills for diagnostics and service documentation
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Residency within Southern or Central Wisconsin
- Your own basic tools (we’ll provide a recommended tool list)
