Logistics Operations Specialist (Bilingual - Spanish)

Onsite - San Diego, CA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Duration: 6-month contract (Potential to convert based on performance and business needs)

Job Summary

The Logistics Operations Specialist supports daily third-party logistics operations, manages carrier performance, coordinates outbound shipments, monitors KPIs, and contributes to optimizing transportation processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate third-party logistics operations, including intermodal, over-the-road, and cross-border freight.
• Manage outbound LTL, FTL, and intermodal shipments from planning through delivery.
• Coordinate dedicated truck operations and load planning.
• Monitor carrier performance and KPIs while maintaining strong carrier relationships.
• Use Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Yard Management Systems (YMS) to manage shipment data.
• Track and trace shipments, ensure timely proof of delivery collection, and support invoicing.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures to improve transportation efficiency and maximize carrier utilization.
• Provide high-quality service to internal and external customers.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, dispatch, or supply chain operations.
• Experience with TMS, WMS, dispatch operations, and carrier management.
• Strong analytical skills with experience tracking KPIs and identifying process improvements.
• Intermediate Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with cross-border logistics, especially between the U.S. and Mexico, is highly desirable.
