What are the responsibilities and job description for the Classroom Supervisor position at Wolf Creek Academy?
Wolf Creek Academy is a boarding school that strives to help struggling teens. We are a faith-based organization with a curriculum designed to instill integrity, accountability, responsibility, and character while providing the teen with counseling and a quality education. Wolf Creek Academy uses the Accelerated Christian Education Curriculum, a faith based, self-taught curriculum. We are seeking a candidate with a desire to help meet the academic needs of students in grades 7-12 at our Learning Center.
This is a unique position that doesn’t involve lesson planning or whole group instruction. A successful candidate for this position will be able to assist students in their daily schoolwork as requested. This may range from showing students how to use a dictionary to explaining mathematical concepts, or reviewing written work as required in their daily work. Giving and grading tests, assigning work units (PACEs), and implementing PE are some of the daily responsibilities required of this position. You will also be responsible for supervision of the students during lunch. The candidate must be willing to attend one week of ACE training during the summer term. Wolf Creek Academy will cover all expenses for this training.
Qualifications:
· NC Teaching License (Preferred, but not required)
· Tutoring Experience (Required)
· Experience working with teens (Preferred)
· Experience in supervision of teens (Preferred)
Responsibilities:
· Provide one-on-one academic support in various subjects
· Provide supervision during school hours (8:30-4:00)
· Grade tests and record results in a sheet program
· Provide weekly academic progress reports to parents
· Maintain classroom discipline
· Assign work units (PACEs) to students
