We are seeking a skilled Construction Surveyor with expertise in land surveying to join our team and contribute to our continued success in creating our property.
We are looking for an experienced Survey Party Chief to perform precise measurements, collect data, and provide critical support for both utility and building construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land surveying, proficiency with Trimble systems and equipment, and hands-on experience operating drones for surveying purposes. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work independently and collaboratively to ensure project accuracy and compliance with specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction surveys to support project planning and execution.
- Utilize Trimble systems (e.g., Trimble GPS, Total Stations, and software such as Trimble Business Center) for data collection, processing, and analysis.
- Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including drones, to capture aerial data and produce detailed site maps.
- Set up control points, benchmarks, and reference stakes for construction layouts.
- Interpret blueprints, design plans, and specifications to ensure alignment with field conditions.
- Perform calculations and prepare survey reports, maps, and drawings as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to provide accurate survey data and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
- Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Assist in training junior staff or team members on survey techniques and equipment operation when required.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Trimble systems, including GPS receivers, Total Stations, Drones and Trimble software (e.g., Trimble Business Center, Trimble Access).
- Demonstrated experience operating drones for surveying purposes, including data collection and processing (e.g., photogrammetry, LiDAR).
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) is a plus.
- Certifications: Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) certification is preferred but not required.
Skills & Abilities:

- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate challenging terrain.

Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and traverse throughout the property as required
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction and land surveying, with a proven track record on diverse projects.
- Valid Driver’s License: Required, with reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with additional surveying tools such as Leica, Topcon, or Sokkia systems.
- Knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for data integration and analysis.
- Previous work on large-scale infrastructure, residential, or commercial construction projects.
