What Wohali is looking for:
We’re seeking a reliable Prep Cook to support daily kitchen operations. Duties include preparing ingredients, portioning meats, setting up stations, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to food safety standards. Must be flexible with shifts, including weekends and holidays, and hold a valid Food Handler’s Permit.
Wohali is a non-tipping community.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist with stocking and setting up kitchen stations to ensure seamless operations
- Support line cooks by preparing plate setup according to company standards
- Maintain cleanliness by washing and storing kitchen equipment at the end of each shift
- Ensure all kitchen procedures and hygiene practices meet food safety standards and regulations
- Stay proactive and maximize efficiency to enhance workflow
- Prepare sauces, dressings, and marinades for various stations
- Portion meats accurately to maintain consistency and quality
- Respond promptly to the needs of chefs and cooking staff to ensure smooth service
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Other tasks as assigned

- Quick reaction times are required to work efficiently and keep up with the pace of kitchen demands
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to follow all site safety protocols, guidelines, and OSHA regulations
- Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws
- Identify and report an accident, incident, or hazard
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Prep Cook or equivalent role
- Preferred experience of at least two years in a hotel or resort setting
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) is required
- Valid Food Handler’s Permit
- Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, often for an entire shift
- Manual dexterity is required for chopping, slicing, and handling kitchen tools and equipment
- Strength and stamina to lift, carry, and move heavy items, such as boxes of ingredients or kitchen equipment (typically up to 50 lbs.. or more, depending on the workplace)
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting while preparing ingredients and organizing stations
- Ability to work in high-temperature and high-humidity environments, such as near hot stoves, ovens, and grills
- Tolerance for noise from kitchen appliances and other staff members in a busy environment
