Position Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Director of Sales to lead sales and marketing initiatives for a hotel property in Mulvane, KS. This role is responsible for developing strategic sales plans, driving revenue growth, increasing market share, and building strong relationships with corporate clients, local businesses, and community partners.
The ideal candidate will have proven hotel sales leadership experience, strong business development skills, and the ability to lead a sales team while achieving revenue and profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute proactive hotel sales strategies to achieve revenue and business growth objectives.
- Lead all sales and marketing activities, ensuring budgeted revenue targets are met or exceeded.
- Collaborate with hotel management on pricing strategies, revenue management, and RevPAR Index performance.
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, local businesses, and community organizations.
- Identify new business opportunities through prospecting, outside sales calls, networking, and market research.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and performance data to improve market share.
- Lead, motivate, coach, and develop sales team members to achieve individual and departmental goals.
- Provide sales training to front desk personnel to improve guest service and business conversion.
- Manage departmental budgets, track sales performance, and provide accurate forecasts and variance reports.
- Implement effective internet marketing and business development strategies to strengthen the hotel's market position.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Hotel Director of Sales.
- Strong understanding of hotel sales, marketing, revenue generation, and business development.
- Familiarity with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS); Hilton PMS experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proven ability to build client relationships and generate new business.
- Valid driver's license and ability to conduct outside sales calls.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of experience leading or managing a hotel sales team.
