POSITION SUMMARY

Wishkah Valley School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary Science Teacher to provide high-quality, standards-based science instruction in a supportive rural school environment. The teacher will foster student curiosity, academic growth, and positive relationships while working collaboratively with staff to support student success.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach middle school and/or high school science courses aligned to Washington State standards.
• Plan and deliver engaging instructional lessons using approved curriculum and instructional materials.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Assess student learning and maintain accurate grading, records, and documentation.
• Differentiate instruction to support student access to grade-level content.
• Communicate with students and families regarding academic progress and expectations.
• Collaborate with staff to support instructional goals and school-wide initiatives.
• Implement effective classroom management practices that support student engagement and learning.
• Participate in required meetings, trainings, and professional development.
• Comply with district policies, procedures, and the Washington State Code of Professional Conduct.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with appropriate science endorsement(s).
• Successful Washington State Patrol and FBI fingerprint/background clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience teaching secondary science in a middle school, high school, or combined setting.
• Experience teaching multiple science disciplines (e.g., Life Science, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Earth Science).
• Familiarity with multi-level or mixed-grade classroom instruction.
• Experience in a small school or rural district setting.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary and benefits are based on the current Wishkah Valley School District negotiated certificated salary schedule and benefit package.
