Science Teacher

Job Summary
The Taholah School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our educational team. This full-time position offers an opportunity to inspire and engage students in the fields of science and mathematics, fostering critical thinking and a love for learning. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and district curriculum for science and mathematics.
• Foster a classroom environment conducive to learning, encouraging student participation and collaboration.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, quizzes, and projects, and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
• Utilize technology and hands-on activities to enhance student learning and engagement in both science and math subjects.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with varying abilities and learning styles.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that promote a comprehensive understanding of science and math concepts.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, fostering positive relationships and addressing any concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance, ensuring compliance with district policies.
• Contribute to the school community through involvement in extracurricular activities, committees, and events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification or license in the state of Washington, with endorsements in Mathematics and/or Science preferred.
• Proven experience teaching science and mathematics at the middle or high school level is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of current educational practices and curriculum development in science and mathematics.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues.
• Passion for inspiring students to develop a love for science and mathematics.
