Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
1. Palantir Platform Administration
- Act as the primary administrator for the Palantir platform, overseeing environment configuration, tenant management, and platform health.
- Manage and administer multiple Palantir Foundry modules (PSPS, WiSDM, IGPE, Encore, DQ etc).
- Own platform upgrades, patching, platform-level configurations, and operational stability.
- Serve as the single point of contact for Palantir product support and vendor interactions.
2. Governance for Compute, Storage & Cost Management
- Design and implement guardrails for compute and storage consumption across all Palantir modules.
- Define monitoring mechanisms, alerts, and dashboards to track usage trends and anomalies.
- Partner with IT (TEAS) to establish predictable cost models instead of open-ended consumption.
- Support annual and quarterly cost forecasting for:
- Platform licensing
- Compute & storage
- Services (Palantir Systems Integrators)
3. Use Case Intake & Onboarding Governance
- Define and operationalize a formal Palantir use-case intake and approval process.
- Evaluate new use cases for:
- Architectural fit
- Data volume & compute impact
- Long-term sustainability
- Cost-benefit / ROI considerations
- Provide upfront cost estimation (storage, compute, services) for each use case before onboarding.
- Recommend alternative platforms or architectures where Palantir may not be the right fit.
4. Access Management & Security Governance
- Own and standardize identity and access management (IAM) for Palantir.
- Enforce integration with IGAM-based access provisioning wherever applicable.
- Identify and remediate legacy access patterns where users were provisioned outside IGAM controls.
- Support audit, compliance, and security reviews by ensuring:
- Role-based access controls
- Least-privilege principles
- Strong auditability across environments
5. Data Retention & Lifecycle Management
- Define and implement data retention, archival, and purge policies for Palantir.
- Classify data by criticality, regulatory needs, and business value.
- Reduce long-term storage costs by enforcing lifecycle management policies.
- Partner with Information Governance and Compliance/legal teams to ensure compliance with retention standards.
6. SDLC & Code Migration Standardization
- Design and enforce a standardized SDLC across all Palantir modules.
- Establish a consistent Dev → Tabletop → Prod migration framework.
- Align development, testing, and deployment practices with Palantir-recommended best practices.
- Reduce operational risks stemming from inconsistent deployment approaches.
7. Operating Model & Transition Support
- Support the transition of platform administration from Palantir to TEAS / client-owned model.
- Provide knowledge transfer, documentation, and operating procedures.
- Clearly define roles and responsibilities between client, Palantir, and SI partners.
- Help rationalize platform support resourcing and service costs.
8. Reporting, Metrics & Executive Visibility
- Build a consolidated view of total cost of ownership (TCO) across:
- Platform licensing
- Compute & storage
- Services (Palantir SI)
- Create executive dashboards and reports highlighting:
- Usage trends
- Cost drivers
- Optimization opportunities
- Support leadership decision-making with data-backed insights.
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have
- 3-5 years of hands-on Palantir experience, with strong focus on:
- Platform administration
- Application administration
- Deep understanding of Palantir Foundry architecture, pipelines, ontology, environments, and security.
- Experience supporting multiple Palantir modules in an enterprise environment.
- Proven experience implementing governance frameworks (cost, access, SDLC, onboarding).
- Strong understanding of compute & storage consumption models in Palantir.
- Experience working with enterprise IAM solutions (IGAM or equivalent).
- Ability to work across IT, Security, Finance, and Business stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience transitioning platforms from vendor-managed to client-managed models.
- Exposure to utility, energy, or large-scale enterprise data platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud cost optimization strategies.
- Experience working with Systems Integrators (Infosys or similar).
- Strong documentation and process design skills.
