Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Panel Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is responsible for the comprehensive design and detailed engineering of various electrical control panels, including Motor Control Centers (MCC), Power Control Centers (PCC), Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) panels, and general switchboards. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in industry-standard CAD software and have a strong working knowledge of international electrical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Study customer specifications, order copies, and single-line diagrams to develop detailed engineering documentation for electrical switchboards, MCCs, PCCs, and VFD panels.
- Drawing Preparation: Create accurate General Arrangement (GA) drawings, control schematics, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials using AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN Electric P8 software.
- Documentation Management: Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and organized project documentation throughout the design lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Provide regular updates on project status to all stakeholders and coordinate with offshore engineering teams, customers, and consultants to resolve project-related queries.
- Manufacturing Support: Collaborate closely with the shop floor team to address and resolve any technical issues that arise during the manufacturing and assembly process.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant international standards, including UL and IEC requirements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the design principles for electrical switchboards, MCCs, PCCs, and VFD panels.
- Experience: Relevant experience in preparing General Arrangement (GA) drawings and control schematics.
- Software Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in engineering design software, specifically AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN Electric P8.
- Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with international electrical standards such as IEC 61439 (Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies) and UL 508A (Industrial Control Panels).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential for effective stakeholder and team coordination.
Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
