Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Generates and edits Nest programs and Flex Schedules for the Lasers, Plasma & Punch as required to produce quality parts.
- Uses scheduling requirements to determine what should be cut on each machine and when.
- Work with the Engineering team concerning product design to ensure efficient production methods.
- Use Work Orders, prints and/or drawings to select type and size of metal stock and to determine quantity of parts.
- Uploads operating program to CNC console and verifies there are no computer problems or data discrepancies present.
- Work closely with the Materials team to reduce material waste, increase material turns and manage sheet / plate material inventories.
- Estimate production times and related costs information to estimators working on new proposals.
- Participates in project previews on cross-functional teams as required to ensure the conformance to specifications
- Maintains necessary records and workflow processes.
- Knows and complies with all personal, machine and facility safety practices and regulations; understands and follows company workplace rules.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to interpret and work from verbal or written work instructions, read and interpret work orders, blueprints, drawings, layouts and technical / non-technical information and use this information to create CNC programs.
- Must be able to communicate and interact successfully with supervisors and co-workers.
- Must be detail oriented, able to work independently as a problem solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills and can finish projects in a timely manner.
- Must have an excellent work ethic and superior attendance.
- Ability to work extended hours on an as-needed basis
Education and Experience Required
- 3 years manufacturing experience in a metal fabrication shop.
- Willing to be trained in Nesting software if no previous experience.
- Experience working with Mil and Industry Specifications
- High School Diploma / GED required
Additional Skills and Experience Highly Desired but Not Required
- Familiar with the use of Radan or similar nesting software.
- Export SolidWorks Files into DXF Files
- Familiar with ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System requirements
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
