Job Summary

The Resident Monitor Coordinator supports the Residential Reentry Program Director by overseeing the supervision, scheduling, training, and performance of resident monitors. The role ensures smooth facility operations, strong resident accountability, and adherence to safety, security, and sanitation standards. It also includes oversight of home confinement residents in the community. This position requires 24/7 oncall availability and the ability to provide backup coverage.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work mandatory overtime as needed across all shifts.
  • Perform effectively under deadlines, time pressures, and fast‑paced conditions.
  • Provide instruction to residents on the proper use of facility property, equipment, and common areas.
  • Enforce all house rules, program policies, and supervision requirements for residents.
  • Promote good work habits, personal hygiene, and pro‑social behavior among residents.
  • Supervise and inspect resident‑assigned chores to ensure cleanliness and compliance.
  • Check all locking devices, alarms, and security systems as required to maintain safety.
  • Conduct urine surveillance and administer breathalyzer tests when required.
  • Prevent the introduction of contraband and maintain control over discipline and prohibited items.
  • Perform required facility tours, including checks of resident rooms and living areas.
  • Conduct resident counts at scheduled and unscheduled intervals.
  • Perform exterior surveillance checks to ensure facility security and community safety.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports, including disciplinary actions, incident/accident reports, medical reports, escapes, and sign‑in/out documentation.
  • Follow reporting protocols and notify appropriate staff of incidents in accordance with policy.
  • Monitor, document, and account for resident medication usage.
  • Maintain accountability for all facility and home‑confinement residents while ensuring security, life‑safety compliance, sanitation, and environmental safety.
  • Attend required staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
  • Enforce all policies related to offender supervision and program compliance.
  • Conduct community site checks (employment sites, passes, and program-approved locations) to verify resident whereabouts and accountability.
  • Assist the Residential Reentry Program Director with day‑to‑day security operations of the facility.
  • Conduct intake processing for new residents, including orientation and room assignments.
  • Perform any additional duties related to this position as assigned.

Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed in an office setting located within a residential, correctional environment.
  • Position is full-time.
  • Requires travel to resident homes, correctional facilities, and other locations for inspection and review.
  • Must be comfortable working in a secure facility environment with frequent interaction with staff, residents, and visitors.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels and routine office equipment.
  • May involve interruptions and handling of sensitive or confidential information.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of experience in a residential reentry center or similar setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Strong grammar, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass a Federal Bureau of Prisons background check.
  • Must meet all agency employment requirements, including:
    • Professional references
    • Criminal background check
    • Drug screening
    • Driver’s license check

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods while performing tasks.
  • Ability to walk throughout the facility, including navigating three flights of stairs as needed.
  • Must be able to perform First Aid, CPR, and Narcan administration in emergency situations.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of office supplies and small packages (up to 25 lbs.).
  • Ability to bend, reach, and stand for short periods during facility walk-throughs and inspections.
  • Must maintain visual and auditory acuity to interact effectively with staff, residents, and visitors.
