What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Technology Field Technician position at Wired IT Services?
Wired is looking for a skilled IT technician who enjoys solving problems, helping people, and being part of a team that genuinely cares about its work and community.
This role supports a mix of Managed IT clients, local businesses, and home users across Western North Carolina and Northeast Georgia. The work is broad, hands-on, and rarely repetitive. You may be troubleshooting a business network issue one hour and helping a home user solve a printer problem the next.
We’re looking for someone with real technical ability, good communication skills, and a practical mindset. This position is best suited for someone who already has a solid understanding of computers, networks, and IT systems, along with hands-on troubleshooting experience.
The role also includes light installation work, so you should be comfortable using a drill and basic hand tools for tasks like mounting monitors, mounting access points, and running occasional cables. Attention to detail is just as important. Keeping accurate notes, documenting credentials and network details, labeling equipment, and creating clear records are all part of doing the job well.
At Wired, our culture is rooted in Christian values. We care about more than just fixing problems. We believe in doing honest work, treating clients well, supporting one another, and being the kind of team people can truly rely on. We’d love to find someone who values being part of that kind of team and wants to build a life and career here in Western North Carolina.
