Job Summary: The Senior Automation Platform Engineer specializing in Ansible, Chef, or Ansible Converge is responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and optimization of the core automation platform using these specific configuration management tools within the financial firm's private cloud and virtualization environment. This role ensures the platform provides robust, scalable, and secure capabilities for infrastructure automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture and implementation of the automation platform primarily using Ansible, Chef, or Ansible Converge.
- Develop, standardize, and maintain the framework for automation content (e.g., playbooks, cookbooks, recipes, profiles).
- Manage the configuration and lifecycle of the automation platform's components, including master servers, agents, and repositories.
- Integrate the automation platform with CMDB, ITSM, and other enterprise systems.
- Ensure the platform adheres to security, compliance, and auditing requirements for a financial services environment.
- Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for the automation platform.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to other automation engineers on Ansible, Chef, or Converge best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement and feature development for the automation platform.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in infrastructure automation, as a lead or senior engineer focusing deeply on Ansible, Chef, or Converge as primary automation platforms.
- Technical Skills: Deep expertise and hands-on experience with either Ansible (core, Tower/AWX), Chef (Server, Workstation, Habitat), or Converge. Strong scripting skills (Python, Ruby, PowerShell). Solid understanding of private cloud/virtualization concepts and APIs. Experience with Linux/Windows system administration. Knowledge of Git for source code management.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience. Relevant certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation, Chef Certified Architect).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and architectural design skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and foster a culture of automation.

The expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 .
Final compensation will depend on various factors, including your geographical location, minimum wage obligations, skills, and relevant experience. Based on the position, the role is also eligible for Wipro's standard benefits including a full range of medical and dental benefits options, disability insurance, paid time off (inclusive of sick leave), other paid and unpaid leave options.
