SUMMARY: The Market at Wintergreen Resort offers a variety of hot & cold sandwiches, deli food items, pizzas, and on the go groceries for a weekend getaway. The Market is looking for talent that will be a face to the front and back of the house operation. Deli Market staff members will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently using modern point of sale equipment, and safeguarding store assets. Additionally, associates are also responsible for preparing sandwiches, pizza, and other food items as requested by customers while delivering excellent customer service and a friendly attitude. Market employees will prepare and package food products and process customer orders to their specifications. Staff must support all sanitation, product quality and presentation standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparing pizza dough, sauces, and various toppings, such as tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, onions, and meats.
• Monitoring the temperature of the pizza ovens as well as cooking times.
• Preparing high-quality food items according to company recipes.
• Monitoring inventory and placing orders for more supplies as needed.
• Cleaning workstations before pizza preparation.
• Ensuring that all utensils and cooking equipment are sterilized before each use.
• Managing all food order slips and ensuring that customers’ orders are completed in a timely manner.
• Disposing of expired or spoiled ingredients at the end of each shift.
• Safely operate all equipment necessary to perform assigned duties
• Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and management
• Perform math skills necessary for accurate daily reporting and inventory control
• Communicate with Vendors and accurately receive and process orders as necessary
• Maintain a friendly demeanor during busy periods of the shift

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• ServSafe certification is preferred.
• Proven food preparation and food handling experience.
• Working knowledge of proper food handling procedures.
• The ability to follow standardized recipes.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to work on a team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Friendly, upbeat personality; be able to work well under pressure
• Safely operate all equipment necessary to perform assigned duties
• Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and management
• Perform basic math skills necessary for accurate daily reporting and inventory control
• Communicate with Vendors and accurately receive and process orders as necessary
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• On their feet several hours per day
• Work in kitchen environment that may have fluctuating temperatures
• Lift up to 50lbs
• Bending, stooping and elevating the arms may also be necessary at times
