JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Spa Desk Attendant
FLSA: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Manager Spa
SUMMARY:
Responsible for the guest’s first impression upon arrival to the Spa. The associate must adhere to the Spa’s standards of conduct in regards to greeting and preparing the guest for their services. Candidate is also responsible for the front of the house and retail sales.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet each guest promptly and courteously upon arrival.
- Inform guests of available services, treatments, classes, and activities.
- Adhere to established procedures for guests participating in services, including à la carte hotel guests, day package guests, conference groups, spa package participants, and local clientele.
- Check, confirm, and manage appointments for spa services using the Springer Miller scheduling program, including following up with treatment staff regarding add-on services.
- Clearly and efficiently explain ticketing procedures to all paying guests and confirm the method of closing each transaction.
- Explain the gratuity system to guests in a professional manner.
- Maintain accurate and organized daily records.
- Adhere to all cash, credit card, and billing transaction procedures as established by the Accounting Department.
- Follow proper cash-handling procedures, including opening, closing, cashing out, and balancing.
- Perform opening and closing duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Price and tag retail items in accordance with SOPs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail area at all times in accordance with SOPs.
- Greet each retail customer upon entry and offer assistance with product selection.
- Assist therapists with retail product sales.
- Learn, retain, and demonstrate knowledge of all retail merchandise and product lines.
- Wrap or bag merchandise for customers according to SOPs.
- Maintain records of retail sales, assist with inventory tracking, and prepare stock and merchandise order information for submission to the Spa Director.
- Maintain a regular work schedule as assigned and work overtime as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, accurate staff and guest schedules, and a neat, professional appearance at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness of all locker rooms and ensure supplies are fully stocked.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- As a Spa Desk Attendant, you have the opportunity to greet each guest upon arrival, assist with registration, and offer additional services and amenities.
- Attendant must have excellent communication skills and ability to maintain a professional and pleasant demeanor.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES:
- High school diploma OR GED.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Prolonged standing and or sitting for up to 8 hours.
- Considered applicants will be able to lift up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
