IT Engineer - Citrix XenDesktop Support - Dallas

Job Summary:

We are seeking an IT Engineer to join our team and support the Citrix XenDesktop environment for our in-house computing infrastructure. This position plays a key role in ensuring the stability and performance of our systems by working collaboratively within the Engineering team to manage the design, implementation, and support of core infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical skill set with experience in server operating systems, virtualization, and network storage systems. This position requires someone passionate about learning and applying their expertise to improve and maintain our Citrix XenDesktop environment, providing a seamless user experience for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Citrix XenDesktop Environment Management: Collaborate with the Engineering team to create, update, and maintain images within the Citrix XenDesktop environment, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
• Application Support & Troubleshooting: Assist in the resolution of complex application issues within the Citrix platform, including advanced troubleshooting for firm-supported applications.
• Infrastructure Support: Assist with the design, implementation, and support of core infrastructure, ensuring system stability, security, and availability across the organization.
• System Updates & Patches: Regularly review and apply system updates, patches, and configuration changes as necessary to maintain optimal performance and security of the environment.
• Process Documentation: Develop and maintain support procedures, workflows, and documentation for the team to ensure consistent and effective system management.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams and departments to facilitate the implementation of systems projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
• End-User Support: Provide second- and third-line support for Citrix XenDesktop-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to end-users.
• Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in Citrix and virtualization technologies, continuously enhancing technical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

Experience & Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, including experience with Microsoft server operating systems, system virtualization, network storage, and server hardware.
• Previous experience working with Citrix platforms, especially Citrix XenDesktop, is preferred but not required.
• Strong hands-on experience with image builds for laptops, desktops, or virtual environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting complex IT issues and providing clear, effective solutions.
• Proven ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, while maintaining high levels of personal responsibility.

Technical Knowledge:

• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and related technologies.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Citrix XenServer.
• Experience with network protocols, storage systems, and system monitoring tools.
• Understanding of security principles, including patch management, vulnerability assessments, and system hardening.
