Coordinator, Equestrian - Camps

Overview

Scope of Position: Develop and coordinate the execution of the Equestrian Program for overnight camps while ensuring excellence in operations, facilities, and personnel.  

Reports to: Supervisor, Adventure - WinShape Camps for Boys

Responsibilities

• Leads the Overnight Camp Teams in interviewing and hiring all Equestrian staff 
• Coordinate and execute specialty training for all Equestrian staff for Overnight Camps 
• Work closely with the Equestrian Leaders from each camp to ensure excellence in the Equestrian Program and build unity among the instructors 
• Manages all Equestrian staff manuals according to ACA and WinShape Safety Team requirements 
• Manages and executes safety and ACA checks for all Overnight Camp Locations. 
• Coordinates inventory purchasing and instillation logistics for Equestrian activities for all Overnight Camp Location 
• Leads Overnight Camp Teams in developing and evaluating Equestrian activity programming from year to year 
• Collaborates with Overnight Camp Teams to budget for all Equestrian facilities and inventory across all Overnight Camps 
• Collaborates with Overnight Camp Teams on all Equestrian activity capital projects for Overnight Camps 
• Evaluates horses health, history and overall wellness prior to arrival at camp 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 
• Requires 2-3 years of relevant work experience to include leading people 
• Experience leading teams through the creative process and producing remarkable original ideas. 
• Experience in project management and leading teams in project planning and execution. 
• Holds a current certification in CPR and First Aid   
• Holds a Level 2 certification in Western and English from a nationally recognized organization. 
• 3-5 years of hands-on horse experience.  
• Demonstrates skills in written and verbal communication, time management, training facilitation, and goal setting.  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.  
• Willing to engage in moderate travel (5-10%) throughout the year and onsite daily during the summer months.  
• Maintain regular office hours at the WinShape Camps office in Rome. 
• A self-professing Christ-follower, actively involved in a Christian faith community and actively pursuing Christ on a consistent basis. 
• Must hold or obtain a valid driver’s license for the state in which they are hired and have an acceptable driving record.
