Food Service Cashier / Prep Assistant

We are seeking a dependable and energetic individual to join our high school cafeteria team as a Cashier/Food Prep Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing student meal transactions, preparing and serving food, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, work well in a fast-paced setting, and follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.Key Responsibilities: - Operate cash register and handle transactions quickly and accurately - Assist in preparing and serving meals according to daily menus - Restock serving lines and food stations as needed - Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas - Provide friendly, respectful service to students and staff - Support other cafeteria team members as neededRequirements: - High school diploma or equivalent (or currently enrolled student) - Basic math and communication skills - Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds - Food service experience preferred but not required - Must pass a background checkWe offer highly competitive pay, great work environment, paid holidays, no nights, weekends and summers off.
